Mount Olympus is due to open its gates again — not once, but twice. Ahead of its Season 2 premiere, Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been renewed for the third season at Disney+, which is set to focus on the third book in Rick Riordan’s quintet of best-selling novels, “The Titan’s Curse”.

The update comes after the live-action series wrapped production on its sophomore outing, with the streamer confirming a December 2025 release. While specifics about Season 3 have yet to be revealed, it’ll introduce fan-favourite character Nico di Angelo, a child of Hades alongside his sister Bianca. Readers should also expect Rachel Elizabeth Dare to make her live-action debut, despite not being explicitly named.
“This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time,” said Riordan in a statement. “It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”
The early renewal is a logical move, as it gives the show’s writers and crew a headstart on development by reducing the time between seasons, thus preventing lead actors Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri from ending up looking older than their portrayed characters.
The trio will reprise their respective roles as Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood in Season 2, joining series regulars Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue). New additions to the cast include Tamara Smart, Andra Day, Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, Margaret Cho, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Aleks Paunovic, and more, with Courtney B. Vance taking over as Zeus from the late Lance Reddick.

The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was well-received on Disney+, and according to Nielsen, broke into the ranks of the top five most-watched original series across all streaming platforms during launch week. Season 2 sees Percy returning to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world upside down — his friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege by the forces of Kronos.
“Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon,” finishes the synopsis for the upcoming sequel. A release date for Season 3 has yet to be set.
