Patrick Stewart Shared Frustrations With Doctor Strange 2 Cameo, And Hints At ‘Deadpool 3’

“Frustrating and disappointing,” said X-Men star Patrick Stewart on his Doctor Strange 2 cameo in an interview with Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast. “That’s how it’s been in the past few years.”

As the film industry recovers from the pandemic and the writers’ strike, some actors have been vocal about their experiences filming during the period of languish, with disappointment over not experiencing the scene the way audiences did being a recurring theme.

“I was alone,” recalled Stewart, “each one of the leading actors had the same experience they were shot on their own.”

In Multiverse of Madness, Professor X made his first cameo, only to be killed off seconds later, which is something Stewart is no stranger to. In fact, Charles Xavier dies in four of the eight X-Men movies. With Deadpool 3 marking the return of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, fans are hoping for more X-Men cameos in the movie. Here’s a flicker of hope — the founder of the X-Men may just make a brief appearance.

“I do have every confidence he’s still around on the X-Men front… it has come up. Here’s been a process, but you know the last two-three years have been so difficult with both the labor problems and the health problems,” the Star Trek star remarked in response to a question on seeing him in a Deadpool movie. While the answer itself is vague, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of seeing Professor X in Deadpool 3.

Deadpool 3 hits cinemas on 26 July 2024.
