As it turns out, the third time’s the charm. After two years of China-only releases, the Oppo Find X series will return with a global launch event on 21 November in Bali, Indonesia, marking the debut of the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro.
The devices are set to feature MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipsets, 50-megapixel Hasselblad cameras, and ColorOS 15, with more information expected nearer to or on the date itself. Some basic specifications have been revealed, including a 6.59-inch display on the base model, which weighs 193 grams and measures 7.85mm thin. In comparison, its Pro sibling boasts a 6.78-inch screen and quad-curved glass on both sides.
The former will be available in Star Grey, Space Black, and Shell Pink, while the Find X8 Pro comes in Space Black and Pearl White, each carrying a unique pearlescent pattern. Both handsets are also equipped with AI Telescope Zoom that allows for 10x zoom and beyond, as well as Lightning Snap, where up to seven photos can be taken every second.
Battery-wise, the Find X8 and X8 Pro pack a capacity of 5,630mAh and 5,910mAh respectively. An ‘Ultra’ variant isn’t listed, but there should be one planned for the near future if Oppo follows its previous release model for the Find X7 series. Local details, such as pricing and launch date, will likely be announced soon, if not during the launch event.
Still, it’s possible to estimate its cost. The smartphones have already launched for the Chinese market, with the Oppo Find X8 starting at CNY 4,199 (S$776) and the Pro at CNY 5,299 (S$980), suggesting a highly competitive price point for a flagship lineup. Users in Singapore can also look forward to early-bird reservations with a S$200 deposit and offers worth S$843, available from now till 20 November. Notable goodies include the Oppo Enco Air 4 wireless earbuds, a 10,000mAh power bank, a co-branded fashion phone case, and more.
