OnePlus 10 Pro 5G Sports Second Generation Hasselblad Cameras For Photo & Video Enthusiasts

OnePlus is yet another leader in the Chinese smartphone market. Despite the stiff competition of that realm, it manages to carve out a comfortable space for itself with its robust and reliable smartphones. The OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, the brand’s latest flagship model, has officially launched in India, Europe, North America and Singapore.

The most eye-catching thing about this new flagship model is the second-generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile. With the expertise of the Swedish camera manufacturer behind the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, its three-camera array is definitely one that users will want to test out.

Each of the three rear cameras (48MP wide camera, 50MP ultra-wide camera, 8MP telephoto camera) is capable of shooting in full 10-bit colour. The 32MP front camera is also no slouch. This latest model comes with Hasselbald Pro Mode, which allows users to take pictures in 12-bit RAW format, giving photographers more freedom and options to calibrate and finetune photos to their hearts’ content. There is also a new mode, called RAW+, which preserves the benefits of the 12-bit RAW format while retaining the OnePlus 10 Pro’s computational photography, so the photos will look better while still retaining a lot of information.

Movie Mode is also introduced to the smartphone, giving users the ability to adjust ISO, shutter speed, and white balance both before and during filming. Users can also record in LOG format, so colour grading can be done from scratch for those who want that extra creative room.

The smartphone is built on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G processor, and with a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, it leaves nothing much to be desired when it comes to both computational power and visuals, especially with the Dual Colour Calibration that optimises colour accuracy under different lighting conditions.

The smartphone’s 5,000 mAh battery also means that battery life is likely going to be satisfactory, and with support for the 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, it doesn’t take long to fill the phone up too. According to OnePlus, with that technology, the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G can be charged from 1% to 100% in 32 minutes, while the 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging can do the same in 47 minutes.

Also, with mobile gaming becoming increasingly popular, the inclusion of the HyperBoost Gaming Engine is going to be welcome. It introduces the GPA Frame Stabiliser, which reduces frame rate fluctuations while gaming, and the O-Sync, which reduces touch response time by up to 30 ms, making the smartphone even more responsive.

This is a smartphone that caters to a wide range of users, and generalists are unlikely to find the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G wanting. From 1 April to 14 April 2022, the smartphone will be available for pre-order exclusively on OnePlus’ Lazada store. The smartphone starts at S$1,299 and comes in Volcanic Black. Those who pre-order will get to choose either an extra 65W fast charger and one metre long cable (worth S$99), or an extra 50W wireless charger (worth S$99) as a free gift.
