Oakley is a household name in top-of-the-line eyewear. Their spectacles and sunglasses have put them out there on the map for decades now.
Their reach has no doubt spread far and wide, and as such the opening of a new Oakley store at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore is a no-brainer. The Little Red Dot is one such country that is in serious need of some protection from the harsh sunlight, and it’s no wonder Oakley shades are sought after quite heavily here.
The new store isn’t Oakley’s first stamp in Singapore, but it comes with the widest array of Oakley eyewear and apparel on the island. And to celebrate the store’s opening, there are several new pieces of eyewear from the various categories, as well as Oakley destination apparel that might catch your eye (see what we did there).
In celebration of the store’s opening, Oakley released limited-edition Oakley x Jeff Staple collaboration eyewear, specifically the Oakley x Jeff Staple Frogskins shades (limited to just 20 pieces), as well as apparel.
Additionally, we got to try out Oakley’s signature PRIZM technology by taking to the waters near Marina Bay Sands, courtesy of folks from the Singapore National Sailing team.
For those who are unfamiliar with what PRIZM is, it’s Oakley’s signature technology embedded into most of their eyewear products today, in particular their shades and sunglasses.
Typical sunglasses do protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, but they don’t necessarily enhance your visual capabilities, which may sometimes prove a hindrance when you’re doing high-tempo activities such as sports. In essence, PRIZM offers enhanced light refractions that boost colour and contrast, allowing you to see things in fine detail while still being able to avoid the harmful UV rays. This is what makes Oakley so attractive among athletes, as well as casual users in general.
In any case, should you find yourself a hankering for a new pair of cool shades, you can find details on the new Oakley store here:

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
