NVIDIA Announces New Flagship GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GPU Which You Probably Won’t Buy

With the start of a new year, what better way to start things with a bang than a brand new flagship product? NVIDIA has officially announced the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, which continues the brand commitment to make the most of the existing 8nm GA102 chip.

Just like the RTX 3090, this early look at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti sees the return of the familiar triple-slot design, but even if the exterior looks similar, the performance inside sees a boost. The new GPU will include 24GB of GDDR6X running at 21Gbps, which is almost an 8% faster memory clock compared to the 3090. This means better performance whether you are engaging in 4K gaming or other tasks.

According to NVIDIA, the RTX 3090 Ti will also be packing in 40 teraflops of GPU performance, which is also more than the 36 teraflops of the 3090. As for ray tracing, users will be able to tap on 78 teraflops, while AI tasks have 320 teraflops.

However, it remains to be seen just how much faster the RTX 3090 Ti is in all areas compared to its predecessor, as well as the overall power requirements. An upgrade for your power supply unit might be in order if you wish to upgrade to the new GPU.

Although this early tease has given us some details to go off on, there are still benchmarks and pricing to consider in the long run. We can expect more details later this month.
