‘Now You See Me 4’ In The Works As Third Film Gets The Most Apt Title

The Now You See Me franchise is pulling a fourth movie out of a hat, with director Ruben Fleischer signing on to develop Now You See Me 4 with Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. Additionally, the third film in the series, due out in November this year, has received its official title, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

Both announcements were made by Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson during CinemaCon 2025. “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way,” he said. “We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”

Now You See Me (2013)

According to Variety, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will see the return of the Four Horsemen: Jesse Eisenberg’s J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas, Woody Harrelson’s Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder, and Isla Fisher’s Henley Reeves, who come out of retirement for a diamond heist alongside series newcomers Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith and Dominic Sessa, all playing currently undisclosed roles, with an overarching goal to take down dangerous criminals. Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman will also reprise their roles from previous films, although it’s currently unknown if Lizzy Caplan, who replaced Fisher in the second film due to her pregnancy, will make an appearance.

Meanwhile, the fourth entry to the series is currently in the early stages of development, with Bobby Cohen returning to produce the film alongside Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman, with the project being overseen by Liongate’s Meredith Wieck.

Now You See Me 2 (2016)

The Now You See Me film franchise has enjoyed commercial success, with the 2013 original and its 2016 sequel, Now You See Me 2, grossing around US$350 million and US$330 million, respectively, at the global box office. “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career,” Fleischer added. “It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is set for release on 14 November 2025, with its sequel currently in the early stages of development.
