Nike has been absolutely killing it with its sneaker collaborations and inspired designs in 2020, including the likes of League of Legends, Friday the 13th, and even 7-Eleven-inspired silhouettes. It continues the stellar colourways with the official announcement of the Nike SB Dunk High “Doraemon”.
Of course, the homage to the iconic blue cat from Japan is an unofficial dub, but with that blue/red/white colourway, it might as well have been. The upper features a fusion of suede and leather materials, with the former all in blue suede (including the red Nike swoosh), and the later in white leather.
More red wraps around the sockliner and the laces, and a hit of yellow can be found on the lace keepers and tags — an obvious reference to the bell found on Doraemon’s collar. Completing the look is a white midsole, and a blue outsole graced with a touch of red in the middle.
With a colourway this clean and bright, this is arguably one of the more solid SB Dunks to have been announced this year. Speaking of which, Hypebeast reports that it will be releasing in limited quantities across September, beginning with skate stores such as Sparky Store. The price has yet to be announced, but expect it to be selling out like hotcakes.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
