Nike has long been a supporter of gaming. Just look at their long list of collaborations over the years: PlayStation PG 2s and PG 2.5s, Nintendo 64 Air Max 97s, the list goes on (go away, Zara). This year, the American footwear giant has done it again with a new retro-inspired silhouette.
First revealed by @solebyjc on Instagram, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage “Have a Good Game” is a loud and proud hurrah to gaming geeks. Sporting a clean White/White/Bright Crimson/Black colourway, these sneakers’ most striking feature is no doubt the pixelated Nike swoosh streaking across the upper.
The midsole itself is a loud multi-coloured gradient which screams RGB as the perfect nod to gamers who like flashy setups. At the outer heel counter is the phrase “Have a Good Game”. The heel tab bears a pair of removable velcro patches, with one side being the Nike logo, and the other being the classic “Have a Nike Day” logo donning a gaming headset.
Arguably the most geeky aspect of these Blazer Mid ’77s is that it glows in the dark to reveal the Nike logo printed all across the upper.
