Nicolas Cage To Play Joe Exotic In New Tiger King TV Series

If you’re craving for more of Joe Exotic after finishing the docuseries then you’re in luck as Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios will be partnering up to produce a scripted TV series on the Tiger King, with Oscar award-winning actor Nicolas Cage poised to as none other than Joe himself.

As reported by Variety, the eight-episode TV series will be scripted by Dan Lagana (American Vandal), who will also serve as showrunner and the series’ executive producer.

The series will centre around Joe Exotic (born Joe Schreibvogel), an eccentric zoo owner in Oklahoma known for his menagerie of exotic wild animals such as wolves and, of course, tigers. Over the course of his career, Joe will meet his archnemesis Carol Baskin, a big cats-rights activist who fights to shut down Joe’s zoo.

This particular Tiger King TV series will be based on a Texas Monthly article by Leif Reigstad titled Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild.

Aside from Cage, actress Kate McKinnon is also reported to be attached to the TV series as Carole Baskin.
