Netflix’s Project Power Trailer Shows Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt On Superpower Drugs

If there’s a pill you could take that would give you five minutes of power unique to you…. would you take it?

Netflix‘s upcoming sci-fi action thriller movie titled Project Power presents such an opportunity – although you won’t know what will happen to you until you take the pill. Some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility and super strength whilst some exhibit a deadlier reaction.

As word spreads around about the mysterious pill and crime escalates within the city of New Orleans, a former soldier with a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx), a local cop (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) fight power with power and risk-taking the pill in order to track down and stop the group responsible for creating it.

The official trailer of Project Power gives us a Batman Begins vibe. Gordon-Levitt, who actually played Robin in The Dark Knight Rises appears as a cop that won’t let crime destroy his city and works together with a dark handsome fella to put a stop to it.

Sounds familiar? But like Foxx’s character said: “This ain’t no Batman and Robin, this is real life.”

So far, the official trailer looks fire and Foxx playing a superhero is long overdue. Foxx delivered a spectacular performance of villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and was meant to play Spawn in the movie reboot before leaving the project. Seeing Foxx finally play a superhero role is incredibly exciting.

Project Power is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman who previously worked together on Paranormal Activity 4 and Nerve. The film is due for release on 14 August 2020 on Netflix.
