Beast Wars Crossover Teased In Netflix’s Transformers: War For Cybertron Series

While we’re still eagerly awaiting the premiere of Transformers: War For Cybertron – Siege on Netflix, we’ve already gotten confirmation of the title of the third installment of the series trilogy: Kingdom.

Where Siege is about the Autobots and Decepticons wrestling for control on their home planet of Cybertron, and the upcoming Earthrise takes their fight to, well, Earth. And what about the recently-announced final third of the trilogy?

As it turns out, it’s a play on the beast kingdom, suggesting that the characters from Beast Wars could finally be making a return.

This was first teased on Netflix’s official Twitter, where it unveiled Kingdom as the final part of the War For Cybertron trilogy, after weeks of posting individual letters in the Cybertronian language that spelt out the title. Curiously, the Tweet encouraged viewers to “go ape and get your claws out”, accompanied by emojis of an ape and a Tyrannosaurus-Rex.

Anyone who’s ever watched the original would instantly recognise the emojis as allusions to the animalistic versions of Optimus Prime and Megatron: Optimus Primal and (heh) Megatron respectively.

Additonally, over the past week, images of Kingdom‘s title (above) and poster (below) have been leaked, which all but confirms this potential crossover with the 1996 spinoff Transformers series.

We’re not sure whether this is directly related to the potential Beast Wars live-action film being made at Paramount, but having Beast Wars crossover with the G1 characters sure is a nice nod to longtime fans of the franchise.

We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely hyped for the conclusion of War For Cybertron before it even begins on 30 July.
