Netflix’s Enola Holmes 3, its teenage sleuthing spin-off adventure set in the world of Sherlock Holmes, has officially started production in the United Kingdom, with leading lady Millie Bobby Brown set to return alongside series fan-favourites for more detective shenanigans.
According to Netflix, the threequel will star Brown (Stranger Things, Damsel) as the titular sister to the famous detective, alongside familiar faces in its returning cast, including Henry Cavill (The Witcher, Man of Steel) as Sherlock Holmes, Helena Bonham-Carter (Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Eudoria Holmes, the matriarch of the Holmes family, Louis Partridge (Argylle, Paddington 2) as Tewkesbury, Himesh Patel (Yesterday, Tenet) as Dr. Watson and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Intergalatic) as Mira Troy.

Philip Barantini, known for his one-shot works like Vertigo Films’ Boiling Point and Netflix’s recent smash-hit series Adolescence, will be directing the upcoming movie, taking over from Harry Bradbeer, who directed the first two films. Its script will be written once again by Jack Thorne, and is based on the 2006 book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries by Nancy Springer.
Apart from the news of its production, returning cast and new director, Enola Holmes 3 has also received its first plot details, with the upcoming film’s Netflix description reading: “Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.”
The “Enola Holmes” films have been a critical and commercial hit for Netflix so far, with the 2020 original debuting at number 2 on the platform’s Most-Watched list, while its 2022 sequel enjoyed an equally massive opening weekend, racking up 64.08 million hours viewed in just three days. There’s no release date yet for Enola Holmes 3, but let’s hope that the film can continue in series tradition to provide an entertaining third case in the Victorian-era sleuthing adventure.
