If you’ve enjoyed binge-watching former Game of Thrones’ showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, along with Alexander Woo’s adaptation of Cixin Liu’s 3 Body Problem, Netflix has promised more episodes of the show, though remained cryptic about a second season.
Benioff and Weiss had hoped for 4 seasons to explore the three books across them, and while their overall streaming deal has been renewed, Netflix kept the details vague. “We’re thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion,” the showrunners said in a statement. “Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we hoped we’d be able to bring the audience to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!”
At the very least, the show will come to a conclusion, whether it’s a few more episodes or a 4 season deal. 3 Body Problem stars Rosalind Chao, Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), following an astrophysicist grappling with a personal tragedy against the backdrop of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. The show was a hit with viewers on Netflix, topping the top 10 list during its release week.
Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
