Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Wraps Filming & Shares First Looks

Just like the Straw Hats’ journey to find the One Piece, the wait for Season 2 has felt like an eternity… but Netflix has finally unveiled a first look at One Piece Season 2. A newly released set photo confirms that production has officially wrapped, fueling speculation about when the new season will arrive. While One Piece was absent from Netflix’s 2025 release slate, the possibility of a late-year premiere remains, though a 2026 debut now seems more likely.

The photo shared by Netflix features Iñaki Godoy’s (The Imperfects) Monkey D. Luffy standing alongside Sanji, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp, portrayed by Taz Skylar (Gassed Up), Mackenyu (Knights of the Zodiac), Emily Rudd (the Fear Street series), and Jacob Romero Gibson (Greenleaf), respectively. The group appears in Loguetown, a key location in the One Piece storyline. Luffy exudes excitement in the image, while the rest of the crew displays a mix of determination and neutrality, setting the stage for the next chapter in their journey.

Season 2 will follow the Straw Hat crew as they set sail for the treacherous Grand Line, encountering new allies and formidable adversaries. Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, has stated that this season will feature Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island.

During a recent visit to Cape Town, South Africa, Oda toured the set of Season 2 while filming was still underway,“I went to South Africa!! Cape Town is where the Netflix live-action show is being filmed!! I got to see firsthand the hard work of so many crew members across various fields!! The sets? Huge! The attention to detail? Insane! The crew’s love for the project? Off the charts!! And the food? Amazing!! Now I feel an even greater sense of responsibility given my role.”
