SSStylish Netflix Animation Showcase Reveals Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, He-Man & More

Netflix united fans from all over the world at its first-ever DROP 01, a showcase featuring the streamer’s upcoming animated series.

Taking place virtually on 27 September, DROP 01 saw plenty of announcements, first looks, trailers, and even the first seven minutes of some of its highly anticipated series including Devil May Cry, Sonic Crime, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and more.

Here’s every single title dropped at the showcase!


Devil May Cry

The one series gamers have been looking forward to is none other than Devil May Cry. An anime series from Capcom, Studio Mir and Adi Shankar (Castlevania), Devil May Cry received a brief announcement teaser featuring a SSStylish art style and of course, the one and only Dante.


Sonic Prime

Sonic heads on a multiverse journey as he tries to restore harmony after a catastrophic event shatters the universe in the first look trailer of Sonic Prime Season 3. The trailer teases a confrontation with Tails Nine and a possible team up with Shadow.


Sonic Prime Dash

If you loved Sonic Prime and are looking for an additional Sonic fix, then zip through 3D race courses, jump over obstacles and battle iconic villains in Sonic Prime Dash, an official game available exclusively on Netflix.


Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix

A VHS full of lasers, video games and a frog assassin! It’s time to join the revolution with Dolph Laserhawk and free the citizens of Eden in Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. From Ubisoft and Adi Shankar, A Blood Dragon Remix will invade Netflix on 19 October.


Blue Eye Samurai

From a brutal time that fears and hates her, a warrior will rise. From the writer of Logan and Blade Runner 2049 comes Blue Eye Samurai, a provocative and visually stunning cinematic series set in Edo-period Japan where a mixed-race master of the sword named Mizu lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge. Blue Eye Samurai releases on 3 November.


Scott Pilgrim Takes Off

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off reunites the original film cast for this brand-new animated spin on a beloved cult classic. Releasing on 17 November, fans were treated to an official clip from the upcoming series where instead of delivering packages for Amazon, Ramona Flowers delivers DVDs for Netflix. We wonder what else is new!


Pluto

Based on the Astro Boy series arc ‘The Greatest Robot on Earth’, Pluto is set in an orderly world where robots are unable to kill humans. But when a murder occurs and the robotic Europol investigator Gesicht takes the case, he finds no trace of a human at the scene of the crime. As he pursues the truth, Gesicht uncovers the most evil manifestation of hate that history has ever seen, one that is bent on bringing destruction to the world. Pluto streams on 26 October.


Masters of the Universe: Revolution

He-Man is back in action! In a first look of Masters of the Universe: Revolution released at DROP 01, He-Man is seen battling Scare Glow like never before. Masters of the Universe: Revolution is a standalone, new series, loosely following the events of Masters of the Universe Revelation. Masters of the Universe: Revolution premieres in 2024.


Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft

It’s about time that Lara Croft gets a brand new animated series! Netflix unveiled the world premiere first look at the iconic figure in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, a series produced by Legendary Television with Crystal Dynamics and animated by Powerhouse Animation.


Castlevania: Nocturne

Castlevania: Nocturne debuts today on Netflix, but that doesn’t mean the streamer will leave it out of its DROP 01 lineup. The first seven minutes of the series were unveiled, revealing baby Richter’s first meet with Olrox. The new series focuses on Richter Belmont’s origin story and vampires during the French Revolution in a gripping story of love and loss.
