On PC via Steam, the game achieved an all-time peak of 480,990 players at the time of writing and currently sits at number four on the platform’s most-played games list with 31,400 (76.9%) positive reviews so far. The title is also performing well in terms of revenue, being a free-to-play title with a battle pass and premium skins, coming in fourth on Steam’s global top-selling games list, beating out previous big-hitters like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Marvel Rivals was released alongside its Season 0, titled Doom’s Rise, an “opening chapter for the chaos caused by each of Doctor Doom’s time experiments colliding and unleashing the Timestream Entanglement,” as described by NetEase. Check out the official trailer below:
The month-long season kicks off with a total of 33 playable heroes, from iconic characters like Wolverine, Iron Man, and Thor to lesser-known ones like Luna Snow, Squirrel Girl, and the adorable Jeff the Land Shark. All characters are available to play for free, with eight maps at launch across four game modes: Convergence, Convoy, Domination, and Conquest.
Marvel Rivals is now available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
