‘Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Set To Deliver Card-Based Heroism In December 2022

Following a year that has seen plenty of upheaval, we finally have a set release date for the upcoming Marvel strategy/card game, Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The Firaxis project will arrive on PC and current generation consoles on 2 December. Unfortunately, no word yet on the Nintendo Switch version.

First announced in 2021, the game was supposed to launch on 7 October. However, it was further delayed in August for more polishing and refining, with December now set for its otherworldly debut.

The announcement comes via the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase, together with a new gameplay trailer that gives us a better look at what players can do in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Obviously, the many heroes are the main draw, but the player-created Hunter is going to be the connective tissue that brings everything together.

To provide players with a better understanding of the surrounding lore of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a new Prequel Shorts series was also unveiled. This would be a set of five short videos that provide more backstory on how Lilith became the Mother of Demons, and how Super Heroes like Blade, Magik, Ghost Rider and Nico Minoru came together to form the young core of the Midnight Suns.

“In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, we knew we had a really cool opportunity to dive deep into the dark side of Marvel and introduce some supernatural heroes that may be new to many Marvel fans,” stated Jake Solomon, creative director at Firaxis Games. “Prequel Shorts sheds light on the events leading up the game and really brings the world of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to life.”

The first short video will premiere on Halloween, 31 October, with one following each week. Players can look forward to playing a different kind of superhero game when Marvel’s Midnight Suns arrive on 2 December.
