The long wait for Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers is almost over. In the months leading up to its September release, the developers have assured players that a playable beta will be released some time before the launch. As it turns out, the beta will drop in August 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Square Enix confirmed the details with IGN earlier this week. There are a couple of beta dates to take note of, and those who pre-ordered the PS4 version game get first dibs.
Without further ado, here are the official dates for the beta for Marvel’s Avengers:
- 7 August – PS4 pre-order beta access
- 14 August – PC and Xbox One pre-order beta access, PS4 open beta
- 21 August – PC and Xbox One open beta
Additionally, Crystal Dynamics will be hosting a second War Table live stream on 29 July. The live stream will tease what’s to come in the playable beta, including more content from the single-player campaign, co-op missions, the War Zone, as well as character progression. A new game mode, Drop Zones, has also been teased, and will be explained in more detail during the War Table.
Marvel’s Avengers launches on 4 September for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. PS4 players, in particular, will get a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version when the console launches Holiday 2020.
