Disney’s live-action Mulan has been charting number 1 in cinemas for two consecutive weekends, and it looks like the House of Mouse is going to maintain their spot for a little while longer.
Starting 18 September 2020, the Mandarin-dubbed Mulan will play in select theatres in Singapore. News of this Mandarin-dubbed release comes after numerous reviews expressed that the movie might be more impactful if the characters spoke in their native tongue.
While dubs are normally made by a different group of voice actors, original cast members Liu Yifei (Mulan), Gong Li (Xianniang), Jet Li (The Emperor) and Zheng Pei Pei (Matchmaker) will also be voicing their characters in the Mandarin-dubbed version.

Catch the Mandarin-dubbed Mulan at any of these following cinemas in Singapore:
Cathay Cineplexes | AMK Hub, Cineleisure and JEM |
Filmgarde | Bugis+ |
Golden Village | Suntec City, Tiong Bahru, Bishan |
Festive Arts Theatre | Our Tampines Hub |
Shaw Theatres | Seletar, PLQ, Waterway Point |
WE Cinemas | 321 Clementi |
Interested cinema goers can view all the showtimes of the Mandarin-dubbed version once tickets become available on Friday.
For fans interested to watch the English version, don’t worry. The English film will still be playing in cinemas alongside the Mandarin-dubbed movie. In fact, English Mulan will be available in IMAX format at all Shaw Theatres IMAX locations starting 17 September 2020.
