Locke & Key Officially Renewed For Season 2 On Netflix

The TV adaptation of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s comic book Locke & Key will be returning to Netflix as it was announced the series has been greenlit for a second season

News of a second season was first announced on the show’s official Twitter account, along with a short teaser showing one of the show’s many magical keys, this one with the number two floating in it.

“We are thrilled to be continuing the journey of Locke and Key alongside all of our amazing collaborators,” said the show’s executive producers and co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill. “We are grateful to Netflix for all their support, especially at this difficult time, and look forward to bringing you the exciting next chapter of our story.”

This supernatural drama follows the adventures of the Locke siblings who move into their family’s ancestral home with their mother following the mysterious murder of their father. In the house, they discover magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death, while inadvertently awakening a demon who will stop at nothing to steal the keys.

The first season of Locke and Key starred Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Laysla De Oliveira, Aaron Ashmore, Petrice Jones, and Griffin Gluck.

Netflix has yet to announce a release date for Locke & Key season 2 but we can only hope it will not take too long, with the COVID-19 pandemic around.
