Lenovo’s premium flagship business laptop has just gotten better with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8.
Touted by Lenovo as being its best business laptop to date, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 comes with Intel’s latest 10th-generation i5 and i7 processors with up to 6 cores, one can also choose to upgrade it with Intel vPro for added security.
Fast and reliable internet speed is vital for any businessmen, and Lenovo knows that which is why the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes WiFi-6 enabled, meaning users will be able to enjoy reliable and faster internet connections with little to no lag.
Lenovo has also redesigned the keyboard of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 with business professionals in mind, as it now comes with one-touch teleconferencing buttons for you to answer and end calls, as well as mute and unmute your mic all at the touch of a button.
The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon also comes outfitted with Lenovo’s proprietary PrivacryGuard display which helps to reduce the screen’s angle of vision, perfect for when you wish to keep confidential information away from nosy onlookers around you. Along the line of privacy of the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon is its ThinkShutter, which is a physical shutter covering the device’s camera when it is not in use for enhanced webcam privacy.
Powering all that is an impressive 51W 4-cell lithium-polymer battery which Lenovo says is capable of providing up to 18 hours of battery life which means business professionals won’t have to worry about having to charge it when they are out and about for the whole day.
And in case you do need to charge it, the laptop comes with a Rapid Charge function which means you will be able to get around 80% of battery life with just an hour of charge.
For such a powerful laptop, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 is surprisingly light and portable, weighing 1.09kg and measures only 0.6-inches thick. However, that doesn’t mean that the laptop is by any means fragile, as it comes with a MIL-STD spec rating, meaning that it is extremely durable and won’t break easily.
The base model of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 will retail for S$3,449 and is open for pre-order now on Lenovo Singapore’s official store. The laptop is available in both its standard black colour as well as black with a carbon fiber weave on its top cover.
