Lenovo Updates 2023 Legion Line-up With New Gaming Handheld And AR Glasses

Good things may come in pairs, but not for Lenovo. The company is looking to wrap the year up with three new additions to its Legion lineup, including the Legion Go gaming handheld, the Legion 9i gaming laptop, and the Legion Glasses, a personal wearable display solution — all of which were put on glorious display during a product launch held in Singapore.

An alternative to hybrid consoles like the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and ROG Ally, the Lenovo Legion Go is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with AMD RDNA graphics card. It features an 8.8-inch QHD+ touchscreen display (2,560 x 1,600 resolution) with 16:10 aspect ratio and a 144Hz refresh rate, alongside 16GB of RAM paired with three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. A microSD card slot allows for up to 2TB of additional storage, proving handy for those seeking extra space on the SSD.

Apart from a D-pad, a mouse wheel, ten programmable shoulder buttons, triggers, and grip buttons, its detachable gamepad also sports Hall Effect joysticks designed to prevent drifting issues. More notably, the Battlestation gaming mode transforms it into a desktop when connected to external peripherals, with the FPS mouse mode converting the controllers into mouse and keyboard inputs, allowing for greater first-person shooter enjoyment.

The Legion Go lists a 49.2Whr capacity, and promises the Battery Optimisation Support, Power Bypass Mode, and Super Rapid Charge Express features. As it houses Xbox Game Pass, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and other platforms in a centralised hub, access to cloud gaming on the move has been made convenient.

For those who want to take things up a notch, the Lenovo Legion Glasses leverage on micro-OLED technology to deliver a large screen viewing experience that fits in the pocket. It touts high colour, an FHD resolution (1,920 x 1,080), and a 60Hz refresh rate, as well as compatibility with other Legion devices and most Windows, Android, and macOS devices with USB-C capabilities.

Speaking of the Legion ecosystem, the Lenovo Legion 9i is the latest flagship to join the gaming laptop family. Equipped with a 13th Gen Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, it makes its mark as the world’s first 16-inch gaming laptop with a self-regulating AI-tuned liquid cooling system. The device is further boosted by the Lenovo LA-2 artificial intelligence chip, which works to allocate power between the CPU and GPU for the best optimisation across various games and applications.

Rounding out the high-performing gaming experience is a 3.2K mini-LED display (3,200 x 2,000) with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 165Hz refresh rate, and three-millisecond response time, as well as support for NVIDIA G-Sync technology. Tipping the scales at 2.5kg, the Legion 9i promises lightweight use that runs on a 99Whr battery. A bonus for users — the laptop includes a three-month free trial of Xbox Game Pass, instead of the usual one-month window, and comes decked out in a sleek carbon fibre look.

The Lenovo Legion Go is available now for S$1,149 alongside the Legion 9i, which retails for S$5,279. Pre-order for the Legion Glasses, priced at S$499, is also open.
