Rayquaza might be a formidable Legendary Pokémon to catch in game, but you can catch something else with Takara Tomy’s new set. The Rayquaza-themed Somen noodle slide lets you simulate the popular tradition from the comfort of your home, without having to travel.
Nagashi Somen, which translates to ‘flowing noodles’, is a popular dining concept in Japan especially in the summer, where diners grab their chopsticks and use them to catch the noodles in a flume-like slide. Plenty of diners flock to Tokyo to experience eating Nagashi Somen, which is where the set takes its inspiration from.
You won’t have to worry about missing the noodles in the set, which includes other accessories like an adorable Pikachu stopper and water-type Pokémon markers to designate each person’s noodle-catching spot on the slide. This isn’t Takara Tomy’s first Somen noodle slide, and apart from Pokémon, a Jurassic Park one also exists.
The Rayquaza-themed Somen noodle slide goes on sale in Japan on 1 June and retails for 14,690 yen.
