Star Wars and Star Trek are two sci-fi franchise giants that defined a generation, earning massive fanbases over the decades with their numerous films, TV series, video games and of course, collectibles. Now, two of the franchises’ icons are rumoured to be receiving their biggest LEGO collaborations yet, with a LEGO Death Star II and LEGO Star Trek USS Enterprise both reportedly on the horizon in 2025.
In the brick-building scene, Star Wars has already secured a foothold, with a huge catalogue of different sets from the IP created over the years. The Death Star, specifically, has received three sets since 2005, each bigger than the last. According to a rumour on FalconBricks, its latest iteration, the UCS Death Star II (set number 75419), aims to be the biggest – and most expensive – set of all, priced at a whopping US$999.99, which makes it the most expensive set in LEGO’s history, a record currently shared between the 75192 Millennium Falcon and 75313 AT-AT, are priced at US$849.99 each.
Specific details such as piece count are currently unknown, although a previous LEGO Death Star rumour in 2021 alluded to the set having 11,000 pieces. The set will reportedly be released on 1 October 2025, and considering its price, is likely to be the new biggest LEGO set of all time. This will also mark the second LEGO Death Star II set, following the original 2005 set 10143, which had 3449 pieces and was released for US$300.
Switching gears over to Star Trek, the series is potentially dipping its toes into the world of LEGO. For context, there has never been a Star Trek LEGO set as the IP’s building block license has been under Mega Bloks/Mega Construx line since 2004, switching hands over the years with other brick-building companies like Kree-O and most recently landing on BlueBrixx. With its current license ending on 31 December 2024, LEGO might have secured a deal for the iconic franchise.
According to a Facebook post by Brickfinder, the rumoured LEGO Star Trek Enterprise-D (set number 10356) is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2025, with a piece count of 3,600 including various minifigures such as that of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander William Riker and Data. With Star Trek celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026, it makes sense for LEGO to release an Enterprise-D set in 2025, followed by a larger USS Enterprise the following year to celebrate the occasion.
As with all rumours and unverified information, it’s best to take these reports with a pinch of salt. Fans will have to wait for any official announcements from LEGO in the coming months, and if proven true, 2025 could mark a fantastic year for brick collectors — perhaps not too great for their wallets, though.
