John Wick Sequel Series, ‘Under the High Table’ To Feature Film Characters

Following the epic saga of John Wick: Chapter 4, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for the iconic universe. The answer lies in the upcoming TV series John Wick: Under the High Table, which takes off from the events of the latest film.

Produced by Keanu Reeves and directed by franchise veteran Chad Stahelski, the series is currently in development and being shopped around to various streaming platforms by Lionsgate Television, as reported by Deadline.

John Wick: Chapter 4 Runtime

The series, penned by Robert Levine of Black Sails and The Old Man fame, follows new and returning film characters as they navigate the precarious balance of power left in the wake of John Wick’s actions in John Wick: Chapter 4. As the old-world order is challenged, these characters will vie to establish their dominance within the High Table and redefine the rules of the underground assassin network.

While Keanu Reeves will not reprise his role as the iconic titular character on screen, he remains closely involved in the series as an executive producer. Chad Stahelski, who has directed all four John Wick films, will helm the pilot episode, ensuring the show remains true to the aesthetic and tone of the movies.

John Wick Sifu

The upcoming series is part of a broader expansion of the John Wick universe. This includes the upcoming Ballerina starring Ana de Armas and a spin-off featuring Donnie Yen. Additionally, the universe has already seen the release of The Continental, a prequel series centred on a young Winston Scott, which premiered on Peacock in 2023.

With John Wick 5 also confirmed to be in development, it remains to be seen how the series will intertwine with the forthcoming film. However, it’s likely the TV series is poised to explore new territories and stories without overlapping with the narratives planned for the upcoming movies.
