John Wick Director Helms New Birds of Prey Action Sequences

When you’ve got a movie featuring Gotham City’s badass babes, why wouldn’t you want some badass action scenes?

As it turns out, Chad Stahelski – widely known for his directorial work on the John Wick franchise – will be coming on board to see out the filming of several new action sequences for the upcoming Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which is slated to release on February 7, 2020.

John Wick director Chad Stahelski will be overseeing new action sequences in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie.

At present, the movie is still in its production stage, but is moving on to shooting additional footage before heading into post-production.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stahelski is reported to be taking an uncredited role in facilitating the filming of these new action scenes, but instead will be under his stunt production company 87 Eleven. Directing the the movie will be Cathy Yan.

Aside from directing the John Wick series, Stahelski’s work encompasses a lot of stunt-driven action films, having been involved in the likes of Spider-Man 2 (2004), Captain America: Civil War (2014), and Deadpool 2 (2018). As such, it would certainly be a pleasure to have him soup up the action of Birds of Prey.

And with Birds of Prey receiving an R rating, the sky’s the limit for Stahelski to let loose his creative juice on the zany action fronted by Margot Robbie a.k.a Harley Quinn.
