It Looks Like John Rambo Could Be Coming To Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm Studios has been busy making the fantasies of every ’80s kid true, it seems. After bringing the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator T-800 and Peter Weller’s RoboCop to Mortal Kombat 11, it appears that the next DLC Kombatant might be a one John Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone.

Recently, creative director Ed Boon dropped a teaser video featuring a Tarkatan running away from something in what seems to be a densely-vegetated jungle. Twitter user @ShaneGotAShrimp (via Games Radar) pointed out that it very closely resembled a scene from 1982’s First Blood.

Sounds telling, doesn’t it? But as much as we would like to tell you to take things with a pinch of salt, a recent datamine by Twitter user @thethiny (via Bloody Disgusting) suggests that Rambo’s debut as a DLC fighter on Mortal Kombat 11 might actually be real, as his name was found in the source code.

Two other characters were found in the datamine: fan-favourites Mileena and Rain. Both characters, along with John Rambo, could be part of the next Kombat Pack. The first Kombat Pack, collated into a DLC called Aftermath, saw the likes of Spawn, Terminator T-800, RoboCop, The Joker, Sindel and Nightwolf join the ranks.

If Rambo does come out in the next Kombat Pack, maybe NetherRealm could consider more ’80s heroes such as Bruce Willis’ John McClane from Die Hard, or maybe even the legendary Bruce Lee.

Regardless of what theories you might have, it won’t be long now till NetherRealm confirms these rumours in their next announcement on 8 October.
