Insane ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’ 20-Minute Sequence Wows CinemaCon Audience

Ethan Hunt eats danger for breakfast, and that won’t change in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The upcoming movie, in pure Tom Cruise style, will pack plenty of action scenes, from motorcycle-riding off a cliff to speeding down the streets and alleys of Rome while being handcuffed.

In a 20-minute sequence screened at CinemaCon 2023, the IMF agent is shown shaking off multiple antagonists in an intense, thrilling car chase with Hayley Atwell’s mysterious agent character by his side. The stint sees them jumping on and discarding motorcycles, police cars, and dilapidated automobiles, which certainly sets the tone for more high-octane action to take place.

It’s unclear whether Paramount Pictures will release a part of this extended cut for public viewing, but there seems to be a few seconds of it in the official teaser trailer for the movie, which is slated to hit theatres on 12 July 2023, two days ahead of its planned date.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also worked on two previous Mission: Impossible films, it features an ensemble cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, and Charles Parnell, among others.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, meanwhile, is due to bow on 28 June 2024, with Nick Offerman, Janet McTear, and Hannah Waddingham joining as additional cast. Like Part One, it will be a send-off to Ethan Hunt, but not much else is known about the story for both films.
