‘In The Heights’ Star Anthony Ramos In Talks To Join ‘Twister’ Sequel

Twisters, the sequel to 1996’s Twister, is chasing up a storm – and Hollywood’s stars it seems. In talks to join Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell in this action thriller is Anthony Ramos.

Ramos shot to stardom in his break-out role in the original Broadway cast of Hamilton. The 31-year-old Grammy winner and Emmy-nominated actor later moved on to appear in films like A Star is Born, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, In the Heights and The Bad Guys. Coming up for the actor is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Marvel’s  Disney+ series Ironheart.

Twisters is the sequel to the 1996 movie which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton as Jo Harding and Bill Harding respectively. Twister follows a group of amateur but dedicated storm chasers that plan to test a new research device in the middle of a huge tornado outbreak about to hit Oklahoma.

The movie was directed by Speed’s Jan De Bont and was written by Jurassic Park authors Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin. Steven Spielberg executive produced.

Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) is set to direct the sequel with a script by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant). Twisters will reportedly focus on the Hardings’ daughter – a specific plot has yet to be revealed.
