Guide To Building Genshin Impact’s Kaveh: Weapons, Ascension Materials, And Artifacts

Genshin Impact fans and future Kaveh mains, Phase 2 of the upcoming 3.6 update is releasing on 2 May 2023!

In February, Genshin Impact‘s official social media accounts released teasers of the upcoming Dendro character, confirming that he wields a claymore weapon. Thanks to the Version 3.6 livestream held on 31 March 2023, we now know that Kaveh will be released in Phase 2 of Version 3.6, which is expected to go live on 2 May 2023.

Kaveh serves as the representative for the Kshahrewar Scholars and is responsible for constructing The Palace of Alcazarzaray, which players can visit in-game. Tighnari reveals that after building the palace, Kaveh fell into significant debt, which led him to share a living space with Alhaitham as his roommate.

Where combat is concerned, Kaveh is heavily reliant on his burst. His elemental skill, Artistic Ingenuity, instantaneously ruptures Dendro cores when activated, while his elemental burst, Painted Dome, infuses his claymore’s normal, charged, and plunging attacks with Dendro.

Moreover, when his burst is active, the damage of Dendro Cores generated by party members is increased. Although this doesn’t impact the Hyperbloom (Dendro + Electro) or Burgeon (Dendro + Electro) reactions, it does affect cores produced by Bloom drivers (or characters that produce Bloom Cores), such as Bountiful Cores created by Nilou.

Depending on the role that he’s meant to fill, the priority stat will differ. Those running him as a Bloom driver should invest in Elementary Mastery (EM), whereas Crit Rate/Crit DMG comes highly recommended for on-field DPS players.

Materials, abilities, and Kaveh’s best-in-slot (BiS) weapon have previously been datamined through Project Amber. To get the most out of the character, players that manage to obtain him from this event or the standard banner must ascend him and his talents. Like most 4-star characters, Kaveh will be added to the standard banner after version 3.6.

For those who wish to prepare material and create the perfect Kaveh build, this guide has got you covered with every shred of essential information, from character ascension materials to the best places to farm for them.

Where To Farm Kaveh’s Materials

Mourning Flower

These crimson Mourning Flowers will be located in the newest desert region of Sumeru, mainly in the Asipattravana Swamp. Since these new flowers were recently introduced to the game in the Genshin Impact 3.6 update, it’s recommended to start farming them as soon as possible.

Fungal Spores, Luminescent Pollen, Crystalline Cyst Dust

When ascending Kaveh, materials dropped by fungal enemies are required. Keep in mind that if the fungal enemy is hit with Electro or Pyro attacks, it will drop the incorrect materials. To farm ascension materials for him, opt for Hydro attacks instead. Higher-level enemies yield better drops. Fungi monsters can be located in Sumeru, predominantly in the forested area. Some can also be found in the Chasm, albeit in smaller numbers compared to Sumeru’s rainforests.

Quelled Creeper

The Dendro Hypostasis is the last Hypostasis introduced in Sumeru. It is recommended to bring Pyro and Electro characters to fight this world boss. Upon defeating this boss and spending 40 Original Resin, Travellers will receive rewards, including a unique drop called Quelled Creeper. Kaveh will require a substantial amount of these Quelled Creepers for ascension.

Nagadus Emeralds

Any Dendro character must ascend using the Nagadus Emerald jewels. The Jadeplume Terrorshroom and Dendro Hypostasis drop these jewels, but players can also purchase Dust of Azoth from the Stardust Exchange and convert other kinds of jewels.

Talent Ascension Materials

Kaveh’s ascension books are Teachings of Ingenuity, Guide to Ingenuity, and Philosophies of Ingenuity, all of which are available from the Steeple of Ignorance domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

The Primordial Greenbloom, a new weekly boss drop from the Dragon of Verdure: Apep is also required, which can be obtained from the 3.6 update onwards. Do note that you will have to finish Act 2 of Nahidah’s Story Quest to unlock this boss. A Crown of Insight is needed for each level 10 talent, which can be obtained during limited-time events.

Best Kaveh Weapon

Beacon of the Reed Sea is the top-tier claymore choice for optimising Kaveh’s personal damage output. This weapon offers a strong blend of CRIT and ATK, along with a valuable HP passive that enhances Kaveh’s durability when paired with Nilou teams. The only downside is its limited availability as a five-star weapon.

The best free-to-play option is the Mailed Flower. This claymore is an outstanding choice, boasting 206 EM and 24% ATK at level 90 after maximum refinement. As a versatile option, it combines EM with a high base attack and was recently made available for free in Version 3.5. This weapon grants Kaveh more EM than any other claymore without sacrificing ATK, making it a top pick for his build.

Best Kaveh Artifacts

As a Dendro unit focused on Dendro Core damage, Kaveh’s artifact choices are relatively straightforward. Flower of Paradise Lost is ideal for maximising Dendro Core damage, but only if another character is already utilizing Deepwood Memories to debuff enemies. In all other situations, Deepwood Memories should be your primary choice. Overall, players should farm the Gilded Dreams or Flower of Paradise Lost sets.

Kaveh will be featured on the second banner of the 3.6 update when it launches on 2 May 2023.
