Hop on board the Star Wars R2-D2 ANA Jet from Singapore

[UPDATE 25 October 2015: Winner Announcement! Congratulations to Willis Sia, Cheryl de Mello, and Wong Sau Yan! You each won a Star Wars R2-D2 X ANA stationery set!]

Picture yourself seated in an aircraft, with R2-D2 as a co-pilot.

But instead of taking on the Death Star or visiting the swamps of Dagobah in an X-Wing alongside R2, why not spend some quality time in the business class section of the new Star Wars R2-D2 ANA Jet, and be among the first in Asia, outside of Japan, to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience?

As the first ever real life Star Wars plane, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner’s livery is inspired by the famed astromech, and the plane is landing in Singapore Changi Airport this November. Japan’s only 5-star airline, ANA, is inviting 30 special guests on board, to experience life inside the galaxy’s most beloved droid (sorry BB-8, but R2 came first) on November 14.

With in-flight decorations inspired by the droid that everyone seems to be looking for, the R2-D2 plane will be decked out in a Star Wars themed interior, alongside Star Wars headrests and dining ware.

20 PAIRS OF PASSES TO BE WON

To be one of the 15 lucky ones selected to win a pair of tickets to this galaxy spanning adventure, simply fill in this application form here. Changi Airport’s Facebook page is also giving out 5 pairs of passes via this Facebook post, so be sure to head there for the extra chances!

During the three-hour on ground experience, winners will enjoy watching one of the currently released Star Wars films, along with an in-flight business class meal on the full flat business class seat. They will also receive limited-edition commemorative merchandises, such as an the R2-D2 ANA Jet model plane, and a Star Wars plush toy.

To increase your chances, share this post on social networks along with the hashtag #R2D2ANAJet, and tag the friend whom you would like accompanying you on this exclusive private event, to a galaxy far, far away. Or Changi.

The R2-D2 Star Wars plane is one of three Star Wars planes converted to create buzz for the upcoming sequel film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The next plane, due to take to the sky in November, will be decked out in BB-8 inspired colours and designs, and be based on the new droid from the upcoming film.

Passengers on the plane can catch any of the six Star Wars films a part of the in-flight entertainment, which also marks the first time that the movies have been available on board aircrafts.
