It’s not too long until Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon premieres on Disney+ and cinemas simultaneously. After 84 years since the first Disney princess movie, Southeast Asian kids will finally have a movie and not just a princess, but a fearsome warrior princess to look up to.
Disney’s Raya and The Last Dragon travels to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. When an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, it’s up to the lone warrior princess Raya to track down the last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.
The movie stars Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as the dragon Sisu.
Raya and the Last Dragon is scheduled to release on Disney+ and in cinemas on 5 March 2021 with sneaks on 4 March.
