‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Director Gareth Edwards To Helm New ‘Jurassic Park’ Movie

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Creator director, Gareth Edwards, could add one more big franchise to his impressive resume, as the filmmaker is in talks to helm the next Jurassic Park film set in the Jurassic World timeline.

The film is slated for a 2 July 2025 release, with production set to begin this June, as Universal is scrambles to find a director for the movie. Casting details have not been announced, but it’s unlikely that any of the current Jurassic World cast or original Jurassic Park cast will return.

John Wick director David Leitch was previously announced to be in talks to direct the movie, but talks soon fell apart after creative disagreements. Gareth Edwards will be directing off David Koepp’s screenplay for the new Jurassic Park movie if he is confirmed to be the film’s new director, though plot details remain a mystery.
