‘Dragon Ball Super: Beerus’ Anime Remaster Gets Overhauled Music, Audio & Revised Sequences In 2026

A classic Dragon Ball anime is getting a modern glow-up, as Toei Animation has announced Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an extensive remastering effort of 2015’s Dragon Ball Super featuring revised sequences and overhauled audio.

Announced at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in Japan, the remaster will premiere in Fall 2026 and feature extensive visual upgrades, including the re-rendering of all original footage, revised sequences, and even brand-new animation cuts. That’s not all, either, as the series will also include an overhauled musical score and audio design, alongside re-recorded voice acting.

As reported by Crunchyroll, the project has been in development for several years, and plans to deliver a more faithful representation of creator Akira Toriyama’s original work. Executive Producer Akio Iyoku appeared on stage alongside Goku voice actor Masako Nozawa and Beerus voice actor Koichi Yamadera to speak about the upcoming remaster, explaining that the team went back to Toriyama’s original drafts to make Dragon Ball Super: Beerus its best representation, with one example mentioned being to make Beerus a more powerful enemy and a more compelling character.

Released in 2015 and spanning two seasons and 131 episodes, Dragon Ball Super follows the God of Destruction Beerus awakening from a prolonged sleep and targeting Earth after hearing about a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, kick-starting an epic battle with Goku and his allies.

That’s not all the Dragon Ball Super content fans can look forward to, however, as the same event also unveiled Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, a brand-new anime series that will continue the storyline of “Universe Survival Arc” from the 2015 anime, and see Goku and Vegeta join forces with the Galactic Patrol, the galaxy’s peacekeepers, to fight a powerful new enemy: Moro, the Planet-Eater.
