Disney+ Hotstar For Malaysia Might Be Arriving Soon After Singapore Debut

Disney is on a roll in expanding the reach of its streaming service internationally. Not too long ago, Disney+ arrived in Singapore and now, indicators of a possible launch in Malaysia have been circulating.

A new verified Instagram account for Disney+ Hotstar in Malaysia went live recently with its first post as a “loading” screen to tease the fans. This exact image was also used to launch Singapore’s official Disney+ Instagram account.

Hotstar is an on-demand streaming service from India that is owned by 21st Century Fox Inc. and has since been acquired by Disney in 2018. With Hotstar now under Disney, India’s streaming service has been rebranded to Disney+ Hotstar and with the recent social media accounts popping up, seems like Malaysia will be having a similar format.

However, as much as the new account has caused excitement among fans, the verified account has already been deleted or made private. Yet, that does not mean that the plan for Disney+ Hotstar to enter Malaysia has been thwarted.

Other than the Instagram account going live, multiple new job listings have been put up on Disney’s official website for Disney+ Malaysia over the past few months. This gives us a strong indication of Disney+ launching soon in the country.

Disney has yet to give any official announcements pertaining to the launch of Disney+ in Malaysia but we do hope that it isn’t too long from now.
