‘Detective Pikachu’ Menu Coming To Cafes In Japan, Featuring Themed Coffee And Meals

A Detective Pikachu themed menu is coming to Japanese-Italian cafe Pronto in Japan.

The menu is to celebrate the release of Detective Pikachu Returns for Nintendo Switch later this week and features the beloved Pikachu, as well as many other Pokémons in the menu.

Since Detective Pikachu has a love for coffee, Pronto is releasing the Detective Pikachu Deduction Milk Coffee, a hot coffee made with a touch of condensed milk and a magnifying glass cookie for customers to munch on.

For those looking for a cold drink, then there’s the Pikachu and Eevee Friends Sweet Potato Chestnut Latte and Pikachu and Pawmi Crackling Electricity Orange Tea. Pikachu and Eevee Friends Sweet Potato Chestnut Latte consists of sweet potato milk and an espresso base, with whipped cream, diced sweet potato, sweet potato sauce, marron glacé candied chestnut and a Pikachu and Eevee cookie on top.

The Pikachu and Pawmi Crackling Electricity Orange Tea is a mix of Earl Grey tea, orange tea, orange sauce, and vanilla syrup crowned with whipped cream, yellow chocolate bits, blood orange peel strips, and a cookie.

Keen on something sweet that isn’t a drink? Then try the Pikachu and Mimikyu Shadow Sneak Sweet Potato Nutty Pancake. The pancakes come with a scoop of sweet bean paste, purple sweet potato sauce, edible bamboo charcoal-infused maple syrup, whipped cream and crushed almonds.

Non-dessert items include Pikachu and Pichu Kabocha Cream Pasta, an innovative dish with kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) cream sauce, pancetta, diced Hokkaido kabocha and kadaif noodles and Pikachu and Charizard Flamethrower Tomato Cream Pasta, a spicy meal with red pepper slices, spicy tomato sauce, salmon, and mushrooms.

Also on the menu is the Pikachu, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly Picnic Sandwich, a sub with cheddar cheese, avocado, sliced tomato, lettuce, and two hamburger patties.

The drinks costs 990 Yen, while the pastas and sandwich cost 1,870 Yen and 1,650 Yen respectively. All drinks come with one of 21 Pokémon art cards and food items come with one of nine keychains.

The themed menu will be available on 12 October in Pronto cafes in Japan. It ends 10 December.
