‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2: Krysten Ritter Back On The Case As Jessica Jones

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will soon welcome a familiar face, and it’s none other than Jessica Jones. The superhero-turned-private eye is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with original star Krysten Ritter reprising her role in the sequel series.

The casting announcement was made during Marvel’s segment of Disney’s Upfront presentation, confirming earlier speculation of her homecoming. While specific details about the character’s return remain under lock and key, her addition to the roster is certainly good news for fans of the show as it continues to introduce characters and actors from Netflix-era Marvel series into the MCU.

“It is so great to be back. Returning to Jessica after three seasons, and the Defenders and now joining the MCU. I am so excited to bring back this iconic character. Without giving too much away… there’s much in store for Jessica Jones – this is going to be an incredible season,” said Ritter.

The actor depicted Jones in the eponymous three-season show, which ran from 2015 to 2019 and saw the former superhero starting her own detective agency, Alias Investigations. She also appeared in 2017’s The Defenders, a mini-series that assembled Daredevil, Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny “Iron Fist” Rand to fend off criminal organisation the Hand.

Daredevil: Born Again is the first Netflix-Marvel show to get a new but continued series under Disney+ and Marvel Studios. It was renewed for a second season in February, picking up after the cliffhanger of the first season that saw the Man Without Fear going underground and reaching out to allies in his battle against crime lord Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), who has aggressively consolidated power, and his anti-vigilante task force. Jones, of course, is part of the alliance.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to debut sometime in early 2026.
