Ahead of its upcoming release on 4 March, Daredevil: Born Again has secured a 2026 release window for its second season, with executive producer and Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum looking ahead towards the series’ future, and that of the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Speaking to Screen Rant, Winderbaum discussed what’s next for Daredevil: Born Again beyond its second season, with the goal to make the series an annual release. “Season 2 will come out next year, and then hopefully season 3 and season infinity after that.” he said, “I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York.”

His ambitions for the show were further exemplified by a previous statement to Entertainment Weekly, confirming that it will “One-hundred percent [be] a multi-season show”, although he didn’t know just how many seasons it will run for, stating that “It would be cool for that journey to continue”.
That’s not all Winderbaum spoke on though, as he also touched on the wider MCU, specifically its potential merger with the X-Men franchise. “I think anybody could say anything online, and it hits the rumour mill and people get excited,” he said when asked about the recent rumours regarding an Academy X series, “Right now, we are still working on X-Men 97 season 2. That is certainly scratching the X-Men itch for me on television. And there is an X-Men feature in development right now, so that is the focus currently.” With the confirmation of the unannounced film in development, X-Men fans certainly have something to look forward to, especially since its latest movie entry, 2019’s Dark Phoenix, failed to meet expectations.
With its hefty plans for Daredevil: Born Again and the potential major additions like the X-Men to the MCU, Marvel certainly has its hands full in the foreseeable future. For now, the success of half of these current plans falls in the hands of critics and fan reception when Daredevil: Born Again season one drops on 4 March 2025.
