Cup Noodles As Headphones? Nissin X HyperX Says Why Not

Yep, that’s the 21st Century for you. These days, you can put anything on your ears and call it a pair of headphones.

This time, it’s a pair of Nissin cup noodles with the iconic Japanese cup noodle company in partnership with audio peripheral manufacturer HyperX creating this uniquely weird and wonderful lovechild for you audiophiles and cup-noodle-philes out there.

Dubbed the HyperX Cup MIX-Ins, these limited-edition bad boys will actually sport a pair of Nissin cups as the headphone attachments called Noddlette ear pads, as well as a detachable microphone called the Microphork.

To show you that they’re not phorking around, Nissin made a statement regarding the announcement.

“Through the use of a detachable Microphork™, the headphones cancel out all Cup Noodle slurping sounds while still delivering crystal-clear sound quality… the patent-pending Noodlette™ ear pads woven together with noodle fibers deliver the silky soft caress of ramen noodles for your ears…”

The HyperX Cup MIX-Ins will be launched on April 1, and the April Fools’ joke is that they will actually be released on that day. Perfect for turning heads on your next daily commute. You can find out more about these headphones on the official Nissin Fan merch store when it drops.

Why not complete the look by slurping on a Nissin cup noodle while you’re at it?
