Conan Chop Chop Lets You Go Rogue(lite) With Your Co-op Buddies This March

The legend of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian has inspired many adaptations over the years, from animated programmes and live-action movies to various comic retellings. Video games are no exception to the rule, and developer Mighty Kingdom is taking the chance to present its own take on the tale with Conan Chop Chop.

The party rogue-lite for one to four players, which has undergone a total of six delays since its announcement in 2019, is now finally ready for launch. It’ll be releasing on 1 March 2022 on PC via Steam, Xbox One, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch, with a demo available for PC and Switch users from 21 February.

The hack-n-slash title sees players taking the form of Conan the Barbarian, as they embark on an adventure to defeat the evil wizard, Thoth-Amon. “Enter the Wrath-a-Thon, a fiendish challenge created by the evil sorcerer Thoth-Amon to trap the heroes of Hyboria,” reads the game synopsis. “Crush, kill, and maim your enemies with an arsenal of savage weapons as you and your friends take on the minions of evil. Upgrade your village, upgrade your skills, and upgrade yourself.”

Along the way, players can participate in boss fights, explore perilous dungeons, and experiment with different loot and items combinations through three game modes: single-player, couch co-op, or online-co-op. Other notable features include a skill tree and levelling system, as well as a character roster that offers hero-specific perks.

Conan Chop Chop will be retailing for US$14.99 and US$19.99 on Steam and consoles respectively.
