It’s the first day of Chinese New Year and Star Wars fans are treated to a second full length trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu. Fans who grew up with the Clone Wars era of TV shows will be especially hyped to see this latest trailer for the duo’s upcoming silver screen debut.
As can be seen in the trailer, Mando and Grogu are on the hunt for a Rotta the Hutt, and end up crossing paths with Embo, a Kyuzo bounty hunter from the Clone Wars era.
Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and Grogu, joined by Sigourney Weaver (Aliens, Avatar), and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), the latter who plays Rotta the Hutt, son of the crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Returning from the streaming series are Johnny Coyne, who returns as an Imperial Warlord, and voice actor Steve Blum as Garazeb ‘Zeb’ Orrelios, from Star Wars Rebels. The film is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Iron Man 2) who is also co-writing with Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka).
The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in cinemas on 22 May 2026 (and 21 May in Singapore).
