It appears that Chris Evans may yet star in Warner Bros.’ remake of the 1986 horror comedy musical film Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Greg Berlanti.
Deadline reports that the former Avengers: Endgame star could star as the villainous dentist Orin Scrivello, which was played by Steve Martin in the 1986 film alongside Ricky Moranis‘ Seymour Krelborn. Evans could be joined by the likes of fellow MCU alum Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton (Rocketman) and Billy Porter (American Horror Story).

Neither Berlanti nor WB have confirmed these potential castings yet, however.
The story of Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour Krelborn, a geeky florist who discovers an unlikely source of success in a talking, man-eating Venus flytrap in his shop, which he lovingly names Audrey II. The 1986 Oscar-nominated cult classic was actually an adaptation of the 1982 Broadway musical of the same name, which in turn was an adaptation of the original movie that came out in 1960.

Berlanti’s remake would then make it a remake of an adaptation of an adaptation. Interesting.
In any case, Berlanti will also produce alongside Marc Platt and Sarah Schechter. Filming is expected to commence in the summer.
