Sustainability has become a hot keyword in recent years, but it’s not always easy or feasible to make the switch. For Belkin, going green is a lifestyle, and the commitment only grows stronger with the celebration of its 40th anniversary.
The electronics brand will start ditching plastic packaging and roll out product materials that consist of 73 to 75 percent post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR) throughout 2023. The process involves taking plastic waste from consumers and repurposing it to create new products, with the following accessories set to ship first with the new material:
- BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W
- BoostCharge USB-C PD 3.0 PPS Wall Charger 25W
- BoostCharge Dual USB-C PD Wall Charger 40W
- BoostCharge Pro 4-Port GaN Charger 108W
- BoostCharge Pro Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger with PPS 45W
- BoostCharge Pro Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger with PPS 65W
The Belkin PCR products are touted to be almost identical to existing models in terms of aesthetics and quality. Consumers can, however, tell them apart by callouts on the packaging and their respective product pages online, such as “100% Plastic Free Packaging” or “Made with Recycled Plastic Products”.
An exact launch date for each of the Belkin PCR products has yet to be announced.
