CES 2021: JBL Bar 5.0 Debuts Virtual Dolby Atmos And MultiBeam Combination For Greater Audio Immersion

Good audio quality plays an important role in creating an immersive viewing and gameplay experience. Hearing the rumble of explosions in an action film, for instance, definitely sounds better than a hollow, flat boom, with features like 3D surround sound adding more depth to the overall audio. The JBL Bar 5.0 goes beyond that by bundling Virtual Dolby Atmos with Harman’s – and by extension, its – proprietary beamforming technology, MultiBeam, for the very first time to offer greater audio immersion.

Equipped with four passive radiators for deep punchy bass, the all-in-one soundbar is designed to produce rich and clear audio without the aid of an additional subwoofer. Where MultiBeam allows users to experience 360-degree sound with no external surround speakers, Virtual Dolby Atmos turns living spaces into a 3D theatre by reproducing and scaling audio height dimensions, which makes the device more than suitable for watching movies and gaming.

Connectivity proves to be a breeze as well. The Bar 5.0 boasts wide compatibility, and is able to work with all voice and music providers, including every iOS and Android device. Courtesy of seamless integration functionality, users can opt to stream and play music wirelessly through Multi-Room Music groups on Alexa products, Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast built-in, and Bluetooth.

The JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam is landing on the official JBL website and select stores in Spring 2021 for US$399.95.
