‘Borderlands 4’, ‘Tiny Tina’s Wonderland 2’, And New ‘Brothers in Arms’ Games Leaked

Borderlands fans may be in for a treat, if a leak is to be believed. A listing featuring two unannounced Gearbox Software games has popped up on LinkedIn, with Eurogamer reporting a developer has let it slip that Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderland 2 are actual projects, alongside a new Brothers in Arms game.

All three titles haven’t been formally confirmed, but the former studio technical director’s now-deleted post mentioned supervising 66 employees across the team to “plan and engineer development on Borderlands 4 UE4” and “Tiny Tina’s Wonderland 2 UE4″, as well as other games in Take-Two Interactive’s portfolio. UE4 here refers to Unreal Engine 4, which the games are understood to be built on.

Considering the huge success of the franchise, it’s likely Borderlands 4 will see the light of day — in fact, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has hinted at a fourth mainline Borderlands game several times since the release of the third entry in 2019.

It should be noted, however, that a purge is taking place at Embracer (which Gearbox and Lost Boy Interactive are part of), so some or even all of these projects may be scrapped. As of now, a total of 15 unannounced titles has been “written down” across Amplifier, Freemode, Gearbox, Plaion, Saber, and THQ Nordic. This leaves the future of Tiny Tina’s Wonderland 2 and the new Brother in Arms title in murky waters.

In the unlikely case that Borderlands 4 ends up by the wayside, there’s still the live-action Borderlands movie to look forward to. The adaptation is hitting theatres on 9 August 2024, and will star Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Kevin Hart as Roland, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu Krieg, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, and Jack Black as Claptrap.
