How can we start the year off without mentioning Transformers? As it turns out, not one, but two movies based on the beloved toy franchise are being made by Paramount.
Deadline reports that one of the two films in question could be based on the Beast Wars spinoff series from 1996, which is reportedly being written by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery).
Apparently, Vanderbilt was attached to the project since April 2019, with the likes of iconic Beast Wars characters such as Optimus Primal, Rhinox and Cheetor all to make a return after over 20 years.
The other unnamedTransformers movie looks to be developed by Joby Harold (John Wick – Chapter 3: Parabellum), though we don’t have much on that film yet. Also, it looks as though either this movie or Beast Wars (or even both) could be set in the Bumblebee-revamped universe.
No cast nor directors and producers have been announced. In any case, this is certainly an exciting new prospect for fans of the franchise should these two projects come to fruition.
In other Transformers news, the War For Cybertron animated movie trilogy still looks set to premiere sometime later this year on Netflix.
