‘Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack’ Revisits The Rumbling In Nov 2024

The Rumbling will soon welcome its second awakening, as Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack has been announced for the big screen. A compilation of Attack on Titan Final Season The Final Chapters, which concluded the two-part Attack on Titan Final Season and the overall anime adaptation, the 145-minute film is set to premiere in Japan on 8 November.

MAPPA is coming back as the animation studio, with series director Yuichiro Hayashi at the helm. Fans can expect improved cuts and 5.1ch surround sound, alongside the return of Linked Horizon’s “To You 2,000… or… 20,000 Years From Now…” as the theme song. Previously, the track was used for the finale of the two-part special, serving as a nod to the story beats.

“I originally drew the storyboards [for The Final Chapters] with the idea that it would be watched as a single movie. So, having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theater, is a dream come true for me,” said Hayashi (via Crunchyroll).

A teaser visual for the movie was also unveiled:

Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack

No global release for Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack has been set yet, but it will arrive 8 November in Japan. The highly-popular series ended its run last year in 2023, following many final-but-not really outings. It debuted in 2013, receiving a second season in 2017 and a two-part threequel that led to Season 4, known as Attack on Titan Final Season in 2020.

MAPPA took over animating duties from Wit Studio and produced two more seasons, with Part 3 split into two extra long episodes called Attack on Titan Final Season: The Final Chapters Special 1 and Special 2. The naming convention became Attack on Titan Final Season The Final Chapters, which is described as follows:

“The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Eren unleashes the ultimate power of the Titans. With a burning determination to eliminate all who threaten Eldia, he leads an unstoppable army of Colossal Titans towards Marley. Now a motley crew of his former comrades and enemies scramble to halt his deadly mission, the only question is, can they stop him?
