Apple Debuts iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max With 48MP Camera & Dynamic Island Notifications

Apple has announced their iPhone 14 Pro lineup – the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

These models come in four colours: Silver, Black, Gold and Speed Purple, and will run on the A16 Bionic chip.

Apple isn’t releasing an iPhone mini this time around, as it did with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. Instead, the company is releasing just two sizes for its latest devices.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max features a 6.7-inch display that has been reworked, whilst the iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch display instead. The reworked displays do away with the notch that houses the phone’s Face ID and front camera and replaces it with a new pill-shaped cutout.

The cutout serves as a space called the Dynamic Island, which can provide key information about your phone and expands if you get an alert, shows you if you’re using Focus mode, tells you when your AirPods are connected and more. It also stays active if you’re using apps like the timer, or provides you with information about sports scores.

The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max also get new high-powered 48-megapixel main camera sensors and three lenses: telephoto, wide-angle, and ultra-wide angle lenses.

Like the new Apple Watch, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max can automatically detect if you’ve been in a car crash and alert emergency services. What’s more, a new emergency SOS via satellite capability means you’ll be able to reach out to emergency services if you’re outside of cellular data range.

The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to cost S$1,649 while the Pro Max Model is priced from S$1,799. Pre-orders for the phones start on 9 September, but it will only be available on 16 September.
