Apple is bringing a new contender to the iPhone lineup with the iPhone 16e, offering powerful performance at a more budget-friendly price. Packed with the latest A18 chip, Apple Intelligence, and a 48MP Fusion camera, this model delivers the core experience of the iPhone 16 series while maintaining a lower entry cost.

Apple Intelligence takes centre stage with this release, integrating advanced on-device AI features that enhance productivity, creativity, and everyday interactions. Users can take advantage of Genmoji, Image Playground, and system-wide Writing Tools, all designed to streamline tasks and personalise the iPhone experience. Siri also gets an upgrade, allowing for more natural conversations, contextual understanding, and even the ability to reference previous requests. With ChatGPT integration, users can tap into AI-generated insights without switching between apps, while Private Cloud Compute ensures security by processing data in a privacy-first environment.
Durability and design remain key priorities, with the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display providing vibrant visuals, while Ceramic Shield glass and IP68 water and dust resistance offer protection against daily wear and tear. Battery performance sees a notable improvement, lasting up to 12 hours longer than previous iPhone SE models. Charging options include USB-C and wireless charging, but it’s important to note that the iPhone 16e does not support MagSafe charging.

Apple’s first in-house cellular modem, the C1, enhances 5G connectivity while optimising power efficiency. The 16-core Neural Engine supports advanced machine learning tasks, allowing for faster image processing, enhanced gaming performance, and real-time AI functionalities. Users can also rely on Emergency SOS via satellite, Find My via satellite, and Roadside Assistance, making it easier to stay connected in remote areas.
Photography remains a strong focus, with the 48MP Fusion camera system delivering high-resolution images and optical-quality zoom with 2x Telephoto mode. The Clean Up tool removes unwanted objects from photos, while natural language search makes it easier to locate specific images and videos. Video recording supports 4K Dolby Vision at 60fps, with Spatial Audio support for immersive playback.

The Action Button returns, allowing users to customise shortcuts for quick access to frequently used functions, including camera, flashlight, voice memos, and more. Visual Intelligence expands its capabilities, enabling users to scan text, translate languages, identify objects, and search for related information in real-time.
